A re-start on sewing!

June 14, 2010 by Janna Roznos

Spent the weekend cleaning my fabric closet.  I am too embarrassed to show you the ‘before’ pics so here is the ‘after’ pic!

Looks nice, huh?  I rearranged, cleaned out and, most importantly, have kept the closet doors closed so the cats can’t make their home in there.  Don’t worry there are plenty of other closets in the house the cats can crawl into!

During my cleaning frenzy, I found this project that I had started but never finished (fancy that!)

So, I finished it Saturday night while I watched the reruns of Star Trek – yes, I have seen every episode, but I watch them again and again – who can resist Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock.  Well, I can’t. So my little mouse pin cushion is on my shelf with my cat pin cushions.

So now I’ve got to get back to sewing.

My next project is this Vogue 1184.

I was originally going to make both the walking shorts and the vest, but the muslin of the vest took two tries to get a good fit.  How many ‘muslins’ will the shorts take?  Do I have the patience to persevere on this one?  Today it is 90 degrees  and I do need walking shorts for summer.    I think I will give them a try.  But before I do that, I think I will make some ice tea . . . do I have any tea?

I’m trying to find this little mouse needle & thread keeper pattern by art fabric studios. Is there any info on the pattern that might help me find the pattern to purchase?
